Connect the TV to a computer with a cable
You need a computer with Chrome and a USB cable, no app. Works for boxes and sticks. Press “Allow” on the remote. A phone will do once ReTV Helper is out.
Step 3
Choose what to turn off
We find ads and clutter and suggest ReTV Home and apps for your country.

Questions before you start

Is this safe?

Before any change we save a snapshot. We turn services off and never delete them, and HDMI-CEC, the remote, Wi-Fi and Google Play are protected. Anything can be turned back on.

What if something breaks?

Connect again and restore the snapshot. If the TV does not boot, restart it by unplugging the power, then write to support and we will help you restore the settings.

Will the YouTube button on the remote stop working?

It can stop working once the Google TV home screen is replaced. If you need it, bring the stock screen back: it is restored from the snapshot.

Do I need a computer?

For now, yes: the TV connects with a USB cable to a computer with Chrome, no app needed. Once ReTV Helper is out, a phone is enough.
